❍ To build a worldwide network of young people to organize a youth martial arts group

❍ To cultivate leadership and a sense of community in youth through martial arts training

❍ (Project period) 3 to 9 August 2020 (6 nights and 7 days)

❍ (Participants) 50 teenagers from 5 member states*

     *Previous Martial Arts Open School participants (OECD aid recipient countries given priority in selection)

 

❍ (Description)

  - Martial arts training - Taekkyeon, Kouksundo, Taekwondo and Capoeira

  - Theoretical learning on health and wellbeing through martial arts (SDG 3), peace, justice and institutions through martial arts (SDG 16) and cultural diversity

  - Field trips to UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the Republic of Korea

  - Activities including zip-lining in Chungju and watching Ssireum matches

  - Feb. - Mar. 2020 Camp venue selection and program planning

  - Apr. - May 2020 Call for participants

  - Jun. - Jul. 2020 Participants selection and event goods preparations

  - Aug. 2020 Camp

❍ Unity through martial arts exchanges and increased interest in practicing martial arts among teenagers

❍ A youth platform serving as a foundation for a global youth martial arts group
