Title [Centre News] 4th Martial Arts Open School to be Hosted in Four Countries
UNESCO ICM will be starting the 4thMartial Arts Open School in 4 countries (Brazil, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Zimbabwe) from May until August 2020.
By providing regular martial arts classes to youth and women in developing countries and the African region, the Martial Arts Open School aims to contribute in the physical and psychological development of both the instructors and the students, increasing their social participation capacity, and constructing a foundation for martial arts education. The participating country decides which martial arts to teach the youth, and the instructors are either dispatched from Korea or recruited at the field. During the duration of project implementation, the martial arts classes are held regularly three or five times per week. ICM supports the participating youth by providing stationaries, T-shirts, eco-friendly bags, etc. ICM has been hosting the Martial Arts Open School since 2017. The program was held in total 9 different countries until now.
