This year marks the 70th anniversary of Korea’s accession to UNESCO.
To share the meaning and importance of UNESCO’s activities in Korea with more people and to promise a constructive future, the Korean National Commission for UNESCO (KNCU) hosted an idea contest for creating slogans, and designed an official logo to be used in various activities related to the anniversary.
The award-winning slogan in Korean implies Korea’s 70 years of journey with UNESCO, on planting peace and embracing the world. It was acclaimed for its core and future-oriented message.
The official logo consisting of the number 70, Korea’s Taegeuk patterns, and the UNESCO logo, represents the 70 years anniversary of the Republic of Korea’s accession to UNESCO. This logo will be used not only by KNCU, but also in all activities related to the anniversary, hosted by other organizations.
To share and celebrate the anniversary together, UNESCO ICM will actively use the official logo in various projects for the year, and prepare related lectures and seminars in commemoration of the event.
