With a theme of “Stronger Together in Chungju,” the summer school will consist of a wide range of programs, for example martial arts lectures, martial arts training including Taekkyeon and Taekwondo sessions, a Youth Idea Lab for the promotion of martial arts, and local cultural experiences.

At this year’s event, which marks its own first anniversary, 25 foreign students from 16 countries – 7 Chinese, 2 Vietnamese, 2 Mongolian and 2 Sri Lankan students will participate.

In the opening session, the Mayor of Chungju, Gil-hyeong Cho; the Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea, Nguyen Vu Tung; and the TV personality Daniel Lindemann will deliver warm video messages welcoming the participants.

ICM Secretary-General Chang-hyun Park said in his welcome speech, that “The summer school will serve as a platform where participants can improve their understanding of martial arts and Korean culture by experiencing Korean traditional martial arts.”
