2024 MUNESCO Overview

 

 

 

Dates: 26 September ~ 29 September 2024

Venue: UNESCO ICM Headquarters, Chungju-shi, Chungcheongbuk-do, Republic of Korea (in-person)

Topic: Sport as a tool for sustainable development: the adoption of

the Fit for Life Alliance and its key areas of intervention

Model: Policy workshop and CIGEPS (Intergovernmental Committee for

(36 for 18 CIGEPS member states, 4~9 for CIGEPS consultative members and other UNESCO member states)

Participation Fee: Free (accommodation and meals will be provided during the conference)

Application information

Application Period : 5 August ~ 13 August 2024 23:59 (GMT+9)

Eligibility: University or graduate school students / open to all nationalities

Requirements

English communication skills (including writing) are essential.

The participant shall attend the conference in person.

The travel cost to Chungju is borne by each participant. In principle, ICM does not provide visa support to Korea or transport to Chungju.

Preferred candidates

Candidates who have extensive experience and strong backgrounds in international organisations, model UN, sport, martial arts and other relevant fields

Nationals of the country to be represented

Total number of delegates: 40~45 (subject to change based on the applicants’ profiles)

CIGEPS member states: 36 (2 delegates per each of 18 states)

CIGEPS consultative members and other UNESCO member states: 4~9

(1 delegate per each organisation)

It is highly recommended to form a team of two(2) and apply for one of the below listed CIGEPS member states. (Individual application will be still accepted.) For CIGEPS consultative members or other UNESCO member states, each individual can choose one organisation or state from the list below and apply for its delegate position.

The organiser has the sole right to allocate the applicants to the CIGEPS member states, consultative members, or other UNESCO member states after reviewing the submitted application forms and conducting the interviews.

1st stage: application form evaluation and screening

2nd stage: online (ZOOM) interview

In case of team applicants, the team score will be calculated by taking the average of each member’s.

Benefits

There will be (in-person) special lectures and sessions conducted by UNESCO staff members.

Each delegate will receive his/her own certificate of participation and souvenir for the event.

Prizes will be given to the participants with excellent performance including the following categories; best delegate; outstanding delegate; best position paper; and best friendship.

More detailed information of the benefits will be shared during the orientation which is scheduled on 31 August 2024.

If you apply as a team, each member of the team shall submit the application form individually.

All the submitted documents and information will be used for 2024 ICM MUNESCO only.
