Notice of job opening
UNESOC ICM is opening a contract position for foreign applicants who will provide assistance in research, data management and project implementation.

Job Opening:
a. Job title: Research assistant (contract position, 1 person)
b. Duty station: Chungju, Republic of Korea
c. Application Deadline: 19 February 2020 18:00 KST
d. Duration: 3 months (renewable based on performance)
e. Starting date: 2 March 2020
f. Employment type: Full-time / Monday through Friday
g. Work hours: 09:00a.m. - 18:00p.m. (Lunch time 12:00p.m.-13:00p.m)
h. Payment: TBD according to the internal rules and regulations

Required Qualification:
Applicants to the UNESCO ICM must at the time of application meet the following minimum requirements:
a. An advanced degree (master’s or equivalent)
b. Field of Education: Archaeology, Anthropology, History or Korean Studies
c. Proficiency in English and knowledge of Korean
d. Foreign nationals residing in the Republic of Korea
e. Preferably 6-month of working experience in UNESCO related projects/institutions

Competencies and skills:
a. Outgoing, enjoy working with and for other people;
b. Flexible in approach to work as well as well-organized and skilled in data management;
c. Responsive with a client service orientation.

Responsibilities:
a. Research on different types of martial arts, including martial arts along the Silk Road and UNESCO-listed martial arts
b. Collect and compile data and relevant statistics in martial arts
c. Assist in creating database and its digitalization
d. Communicate with martial arts experts and practitioners, including those engaged with Silk Road Universities Network
e. Provide editorial, proofreading support for publishing projects
f. Perform additional duties as requested
