CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

 

 


International Centre of Martial Arts for Youth Development and Engagement under the auspices of UNESCO (UNESCO ICM) is a UNESCO Category 2 Centre which is established through a signed agreement between the Government of the Republic of Korea and UNESCO.

 

The 2025 ICM MODEL UNESCO CONFERENCE (2025 ICM MUNESCO) which will be held from the 25th to the 29th of August aims to find creative solutions for the challenges humanity faced by enabling young people to instill their creative ideas and to build their capacity through diverse academic and cultural activities.

 

ICM looks forward to having active participation of those who are highly interested in the activities of UNESCO and social transforming impact of sport.

2025 ICM MUNESCO OVERVIEW

 


l Topic: Impact of sport in promoting diversity and supporting marginalized communities

l Dates: 25 August ~ 29 August 2025

l Main location: ICM Headquarters, Chungju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do, Republic of Korea

l Participants: 50 graduate and undergraduate students (excluding the members of secretariat)

l Language: English

 

DELEGATES APPLICATION GUIDELINE

 


l Number of selectees: 50 (subject to change)

Ø CIGEPS member states: 1-2 per each member state, maximum 36

Ø CIGEPS consultative member: 1 per each consultative member, maximum 20

 

l Eligibility

Ø Undergraduate and graduate students (including exchange students, students enrolled in language school/institute, and those taking a leave of absence) or youth aged between 19 and 34

Ø Ones residing in the Republic of Korea or willing to travel to Korea at their own expenses

Ø Open to all nationalities

 

l Function(s)

Ø Pre-conference

Each delegate will participate in online and in-person activities assigned including team discussion, rules of procedure training, and orientation session

Ø During the conference

The delegates will be divided into two groups.

1. CIGEPS member state

2. CIGEPS consultative members

In the first part of the 2025 ICM MUNESCO, each group will have its own meeting. In the last part of the 2025 ICM MUNESCO, the two groups will gather together and participate in the CIGEPS extra-ordinary session.

 

l Benefits

Ø Free participation (including meals and accommodation) + souvenirs & participation certificate

Ø Award winners will receive prize and there will have a chance for field trip. Internship opportunity is under review.

 

l Required documents: will be requested individually if necessary

 

l Participant requirements

Ø Must have intermediate to advanced English skills

Ø Must be committed to the 2025 MUNESCO and attend the whole programme (including preparatory team activities, orientation session, and the conference)

 

l Preferred candidate(s)

Ø Those who have experience in similar events

Ø Those who have deeper understanding of UNESCO and its Fit for Life initiative, sport for development and peace, physical education, sport policy, and SDGs

Ø Those who are academically excellent and have advanced writing skills

Ø Those who could add more sense of diversity to the programme
