Title 2024 UNESCO ICM Martial Arts Education Prize Laureate (Roberto Orlando)
Every year, ICM selects and awards a winner for the 「UNESCO ICM Martial Arts Education Prize」 among candidates who have contributed to positive social changes through martial arts training activities. The winner for 2024 is Roberto Orlando. He has been implementing the 'Judo for Peace' programme in Johannesburg dojos and schools to teach judo for refugees and marginalised youths, hosting campaigns on xenophobia, digital inclusion, social inclusion and community empowerment, and developing a professional development course for aspiring judo coaches.
